2006-2007
Mary E. Wells Junior High School serves approximately 575 students in grades 6 through 8. This is the first year that Wells Junior High School has participated in the JFYNet Academic Support Program. JFYNet worked with 8 math teachers in both regular education and special education classrooms. The library computer lab was used so that teachers would have a place to bring their entire class to utilize the PLATO software. In addition to the library lab, PLATO was also installed on a small number of computers in each of the math teachers’ classrooms. Teachers used the JFYNet program for MCAS remediation and to supplement instruction on skills being addressed in the math classroom. The teachers’ drive to incorporate the JFYNet program into their curriculum has earned them a JFYNet Achievement Award in May of 2007.
