2006-2007
Springfield Central High School serves approximately 2,000 students in grades 9 through 12. JFYNet has had a small academic support program at Central High School for four years. In 2006-2007, JFYNet worked with two math teachers who served students that had not passed the MCAS. One of the teachers participated in the JFYNet program previously and the other was new to the program this school year. Classes ranged from 7 to21 students and took place in 1 computer lab. All of the students in the JFYNet program had already taken the MCAS exam at least once and failed. These two teachers do a great job in aligning their traditional classroom lessons to what they have their students work on when they are using the PLATO software.
