2006-2007
Now in our second full year of use, Revere builds the use of the program into the students’ class schedule. A mobile cart of 10 wireless laptops moves to classrooms to support this schedule. The program focused on using Revere High School’s standards-based math curriculum and JFYNet constructed a customized curriculum alignment of Plato activities to match Revere’s curriculum. During 2006-2007, 123 students actively participated in the program, all of them sophomores in either special education classes or math strategies.

The teachers and administration make excellent use of the program, regardless of their level of comfort with technology. MA State Representative Robert DeLeo visited the program in March 2006. Rep. DeLeo said that he was impressed with the program and noted that the students seemed very focused and engaged by the interactive software. “From what everyone is telling me, this is clearly a program that works and needs to be expanded, “ he said. “It’s a credit to Superintendent Paul Dakin, Dr. DeRuosi, and Revere High School that they have taken the initiative to bring this program to their students.” Revere High School received a JFYNet Achievement Award in May 2006.
