2006-2007
John F. Parker Middle School serves 5-8 grades and its enrollment for the 2006-07 school year was 457. The student population was 17.7% SPED and 70.9% white (12.9% Hispanic). 55.4% of students were low income. There were 35 teachers and 96.5% of core teachers were Highly Qualified.

Previously at Parker MS, JFYNet worked with only one math teacher, whose classroom served as the lab for 15 students. At the start of this year, Parker had restructured some of its math classes and this same teacher was no longer available to oversee the lab. Therefore, scheduling became a challenge and during the first term, the math program was used only sporadically. Once Parker established its new lab (doubled the number of computers) and set up a schedule, usage tripled with almost a dozen math and ELA classes scheduled every week. All of the core teachers brought their students down to the lab 1-2 times per week.
