Boston- Media Communications Technology High School (MCTHS)
2006-2007
The Media Communications Technology High School was founded in 2005. Serving almost 400 students in grades 9 to 12, MCTHS is a college preparatory program that provides opportunities for students to take a variety of courses focused on media today. Prior to the small schools initiative, there was a JFYNet Academic Support Program at West Roxbury High School. During the 2006-2007 school year, JFYNet worked with one math teacher whose classroom was also the computer lab. This teacher had previous experience using PLATO while at West Roxbury High School. He utilized the JFYNet program for his MCAS, Algebra and Geometry classes this year. JFYNet staff worked with the teacher to create a small group instruction computer schedule that enabled all students to participate fully.
