2006-2007
LHS has a population of 1,671 students, offering grades 9-12. A diverse school, with 35.3% white students, 38.1% Hispanic students, 14.1% African American students, and 8.9% Asian students; 66.7% of the students come from low-income families. One hundred fifty one students actively participated in the JFYNet Academic Support Program. Students were enrolled in the JFYNet program for the winter and spring terms and used JFYNet’s MCAS Express program for both Math and ELA. Of note this school year was our work with one mid-career change teacher. This was his first year in his new profession and he gained his confidence in lesson planning and teaching without missing a beat.
