JFYNet e-Learning

Today’s students are the digital generation. To compete for their attention, education has to meet them where they are—online. JFYNet is a structured e-learning program that gives teachers and students the digital tools and professional support they need to maximize learning. Trained instructional technology specialists provide professional development working with teachers in the classroom on an ongoing basis to develop and adapt curriculum, interpret data, individualize instruction and monitor student progress so that students master the material for which they are accountable. JFYNet has demonstrated consistent success in introducing and nurturing the use of technology in school classrooms. Learn more.

JFYNet Accuplacer Readiness: The Gateway to College and Career

Whitepaper published August 2011
Ever since Daniel Bell coined the term “post-industrial” in 1973, college has been recognized as the path to a career in the new economy. Enrollment rates nationwide have gone up for all demographic groups, especially in Massachusetts, which has the 3rd highest college enrollment rate in the nation. But these positive trends hide some perplexing facts. Although enrollment is up, college completion rates remain stubbornly low. While many more people of all demographic groups are realizing the benefits of college and taking the first step of enrolling, the majority of them will never earn a degree.

Sustainable Change

JFYNet achieves its results by applying a new theory of change, a theory that works from the bottom up, classroom by classroom, to transform the practice of teaching and the experience of learning. By bringing new methods and materials into the classroom, JFYNet changes the experience of the student. As teachers grow proficient in the new methods, a new pedagogy emerges. As more teachers join the program, JFYNet extends the degree of change in the school. Student performance improves. Teachers feel more effective because they are more effective. The school’s overall performance rises.
The goals of education reform– higher achieving students, more effective teachers, higher-performing schools—can be realized without disrupting schools. The JFYNet theory of change comes from within, grows gradually and transforms organically. It is a proven and sustainable method of school improvement.
